L.A. Noire is a 2011 action-adventure neo-noir crime video game developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar Games. It was released for PlayStation three, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. L.A. Noire is set in Los Angeles in 1947 and challenges the player, controlling a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer, to solve a range of situations across 5 departments. Players should investigate crime scenes for clues, stick to up leads, and interrogate suspects, and the players' achievement at these activities will effect how significantly of the cases' stories are revealed.

The game draws heavily from each the plot and aesthetic elements of film noir, stylistic films created common in the 1940s and 1950s that share related visual styles and themes, such as crime and moral ambiguity.
