It is the fifth key installment and the third numbered title in the Assassin's Creed series, and a direct sequel to 2011's Assassin's Creed: Revelations.
The primary portion of Assassin's Creed III is set just before, for the duration of and following the American Revolution from 1753 to 1783, featuring a new half English and half Mohawk protagonist Ratonhnhake:ton "Ra-doon-ha-gay-doon", also identified by the adopted name of "Connor".
In addition to the historical period, the game also features the "present day" setting, exactly where series protagonist Desmond Miles need to adventure to prevent the 2012 apocalypse, as his story develops and reaches a conclusion.
The game features a new engine, Anvil Next,constructed from the ground up, the engine is mentioned to utilize complete capability of current generation systems to provide a "next-gen Assassin's Creed expertise....
